Specific Need

During this year 2023, money from this fund was used to pay to trim and cuty storm damaged trees again in both the Antioch and Wells cemeteries.  We thank you everyone who continues to support us.  

Profile

The Antioch Cemetery was established in 1867 and is located southwest of Frankfort.  It was charterd by the state of Kansas in 1879, and remains one of the oldest non-profit cemeteries in the state having been incorporated for over 140 years.

It has no paid employees, and a five member board governing and maintaining it as well as two other small cemeteries nearby.  They are the Wells and Proctor family cemeteries.  Antioch is an active cemetery with anywhere from 7 to 12 burials a year.  Most of the work is voluntary and it depends heavily on monetary gifts from families and descendants in the Frankfort area.
